MAXIMUS – Improving Feed Efficiency to Maximise Performance

For many beef farmers around the country, feed represents one of the most significant costs to their business. That’s why at Fane Valley Feeds, we have launched the MAXIMUS range, which is proven to increase the feed efficiency of beef animals, leading to more liveweight gain from the same amount of concentrates.

MAXIMUS products contain a unique natural technology which increases feed efficiency in beef animals, allowing them to get more energy out of the same feed. This performance enhancing technology works by altering the microbial population within the rumen, preventing energy from being wasted and instead promoting microbes which will use feed most efficiently.

Proven Performance

At Fane Valley Feeds, we have carried out extensive trial work using MAXIMUS with approximately 400 cattle on local farms. In each trial cattle were separated into two groups and balanced according to breed, initial weight and age. Both treatment and control groups were fed the same balanced ration, with the only difference being the addition of MAXIMUS in the treatment group.

The results from the farm trials show:

• Same amount of concentrates fed
• Additional 195g daily liveweight gain
• Improved feed conversion efficiency
• 6-1 Return on investment

Cattle fed MAXIMUS consistently achieved an additional 130–260 grams of liveweight gain per head per day compared to standard rations. This uplift in performance is achieved through improved efficiency, not increased feed input.

This is a substantial increase in daily liveweight gain for beef farmers and will enable farmers to increase the finish weights of their cattle or reduce their time on farm –contributing to farm performance, profitability and sustainability.
